Some of the deities we worship have roots in the holy books- Ooni of Ife says, frowns at misrepresentation of African religion

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has cautioned people to stop misrepresenting the importance of festivals and deities celebrated in the ancient city of Ile-Ife and all parts of Africa.

Speaking at the 2016 celebration of Oranfe the god of fire in Ile Ife, Osun state yesterday Oct. 26th, the Ooni said that some of the deities being worshiped in Africa have their roots in holy books like the Bible and Quran.

He lamented that many people failed to promote the positive aspects of the yoruba and African festivals due to slavish mentality and over-Westernization. According to him, no human being can survive without what the deities represent.‎

"Our people really need to be enlightened. A lot of these festivals have been misconstrued, misrepresented and demonized as if we are idol worshippers. We are not idol worshippers. We are rather believers in nature. ‎I am not saying the commandments of God should not be adhered to, but we must know that all these deities are messengers of God. They represent nature. Nothing can be done without nature regardless of our religion be it Islam or Christianity or even traditional. We only honour nature because we are all integra part of it, and not worship idols. Some of the deities we worship have roots in the holy books. We are also following the instructions of God needed for the sustenance of mankind as everybody, including powerful leaders rely on nature to survive." Ooni Ogunwusi said

He faulted the influence of westernization on the cultural belief of Africans, adding that it is a major factor responsible for the increasing poverty facing the immeasurably blessed continent.
"Those who keep sensitising people against us that we are worshipping idols are not kind to history. I am proud to be associated with nature. Ife has 201 out the 401 deities and they are all relevant.‎ These deities are divine messengers of God sent for different purposes. One of them is ORANFE the god of fire being celebrated here today. It is a pity that all powers in the possession of blackmen are being used for battles and power tussles. It is from this unique powers that the west sourced technology and development from and they are now using it against us. We will continue to experience poverty all over the place if we don't celebrate the good side of our culture. Some of these deities also show the mysteries of God. God wouldn't have made mistake in the creation of the deitiesThey are representatives of sciences being taught in schools. It is very sad that the western world has messed up our psyche and inflicted slavish mentality on us making us to believe we are idol worshippers as our pitiable neglect of our own culture and traditions a major factor responsible for the poverty in the land. We left the positive sides and allow the west to implant the negative side in our brain.

Prepare them physically, give them impenetrable vest, place them in legitimate shielded tanks as opposed to fake heavily clad tanks. These are the sorts of things that anyplace else on the planet, the shock will be with the end goal that you and I would artistically be standing up in the city to say where are these folks who did this and in the event that we don't feel that way, it just keeps on lessening us. My child was asking me a day or two ago that these individuals who did every one of these things, stole N50 billion and others, I haven't seen any of them bolted up. I said we have a framework. We must take after the manage of law. We are doing as such. We must take them to a courtroom. We are not in a general public where we are simply going to attach somebody to a stick and shoot them. We must go to a courtroom. A significant number of the individuals who do these things have the assets to procure the best legal advisors who can keep a case in court for a long time, 10 years. So we must continue battling that also"he said

Amid those 10 years helpless before a rich, all around associated and apparently very regarded family from Nigeria, not a spirit fluttered an eyelid at the young lady in their group who might take different understudies to class, then lift them up, yet at no time go to classes herself. In many regards, she was imperceptible to the outside world.

The study finds that only eight for each penny of the UK populace comprehends the genuine degree of bondage in this nation, while more than 55 for each penny confess to not monitoring the most widely recognized sign. This absence of mindfulness about advanced bondage among the British open is highlighted in Cynthia's story.

As a youthful youngster she would walk the family's kids to class every day and afterward return home once more, without neighbors voicing any worry. When she was 15 she began going to night classes at the neighborhood school, yet none of the instructors addressed why a youngster was concentrating on at night and not amid the school day.

"Individuals couldn't have cared less," Cynthia reviews. "It's something that truly disturbs me. I was just 13 years of age, yet no one disagreed with the way that I shouldn't do these things. I didn't talk about it since I was advised not to talk, but rather it's miserable that it took 10 years for anybody to say something."

A report distributed by Kevin Hyland OBE, the UK's Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner, as of late uncovered "unending shortcomings in cutting edge bondage wrongdoing reporting," indicating an absence of insight reporting and proof based activity, prompting casualties, for example, Cynthia being fizzled by the framework. In light of Cynthia's story, Mr Hyland said:

"There are numerous young ladies and ladies being acquired over and working the shadows. Cynthia was taking the kids to class at 13 years old, and individuals didn't pay heed. She was plainly a kid being dealt with uniquely in contrast to the next youngsters, yet nobody stood up or made a move. It's an issue with the law also. It should be managed like whatever other wrongdoing of manhandle."

Before she moved to the UK, Cynthia was going to class in the town where she experienced childhood in Lagos State, Nigeria. Despite the fact that she was in school her family was poor, and when the offer came up through a removed family companion for her to move in with a rich Nigerian family in Britain, her folks would not like to turn down the open door for her to escape destitution and access a superior instruction. Be that as it may, on touching base in the UK Cynthia immediately found the truth was altogether different.

"The day after I moved here the man of the house debilitated me," Cynthia says. "He said I needed to wake up at 5am each morning to clean the house. I wasn't permitted to go to class. I had been advised I would take the children to class and afterward go to my school for the day. Be that as it may, they said after I did the school run I wasn't permitted to go out – simply do the tasks. That knocked my socks off."

It was a considerable measure to adapt to and I had no protection by any means. My room entryway was constantly kept open so they could call me whenever. Here and there at 1am I'd need to get up and work."

As time went on her treatment turned out to be more awful. A few weeks after her landing Cynthia composed a letter tended to her folks, telling the truth of what was occurring, yet kept it in a shut scratch pad.

"The lady some way or another discovered it," she says. "That is the point at which I understood I was truly apprehensive of them and I couldn't do anything. I needed to implore her for pardoning. She wouldn't converse with me. I got to resemble an adversary in the house. I couldn't converse with individuals. I didn't have anybody to converse with. I attempted to tell my family in Nigeria however they didn't accept what I was stating. The lady let them know things that weren't genuine – that I wasn't acting."

While battling with her profound depression, Cynthia pined to go to class once more. Following a year of living in the UK she got another possibility at instruction.

"The family acknowledged I was continually crying about not going to class," she recalls. "I would have swollen eyes toward the end of consistently from crying about it. The lady addressed a companion who worked in a school and I was enlisted onto evening classes." But prevailing in her studies while finishing her day by day household work was no simple accomplishment. "Before going to classes I needed to complete all the housework, The lady would investigate it before I went. At times I would be late for school, different times I couldn't go by any means. However, I couldn't converse with anybody there about what was going on. I needed to imagine everything was alright."

Regardless of missing a year of classes and concentrate just in the nights, Cynthia passed her GCSEs only a year late. After that she was ravenous to proceed with her instruction.

"I needed to do a Business capability, however it was full-time," she says. "The lady said I needed to care for the children, so I couldn't do it. I needed to do evening classes once more. Bookkeeping was the main night class accessible, so I took that. I needed to put such a great amount of exertion in. I was resolved. I needed to do the housework as well. I needed to ensure wherever was perfect before I went to the library or anything."

At around an indistinguishable time from she started her school ponders, Cynthia met somebody who made getting away appear to be conceivable.

"I met a lady around the local area. She was Nigerian yet not inside the right-sew Nigerian people group," she says. "I was sitting in a seat and she came over with her children and began conversing with me. She could see that I was concerned. We got talking and she gave me her number. I called her a couple of weeks after the fact. Continuously I could open up to her. She said the most ideal path was to move out of the house. From that point I could settle on that decision. I knew it was the ideal time for me to move."

By chatting with somebody about her circumstance, Cynthia in the long run developed the certainty to tell the family she was taking off.

"I was exceptionally perplexed without bounds. I didn't know where I was going," she says. "I decided that I needed to go, yet it was truly terrifying. I had been in there for a long time."

Cynthia found a space to lease with the assistance of the lady who urged her to take off. The family reluctantly concurred she could leave, however kept her international ID. She didn't at first report them to the police. She thought she could quickly proceed onward from what had happened, yet soon found the experience was bringing about her misery, uplifted by budgetary weights. She reviews: "It was a distressing time, and I thought that it was difficult to pay the lease. I would clean for individuals, I would press garments. Be that as it may, I was depleted candidly and physically.

"I couldn't rest for the dread of what was going to transpire. At that point I began listening to voices in my mind around evening time, yelling orders at me. I came to the heart of the matter where I was dozing for one hour a night. I thought if everything understood that troublesome I would gather my pack and do a reversal to my nation, yet I couldn't do that. Despite everything they had my international ID and I had no visa, nothing. That is the point at which I chose I needed to tell the police what they had done to me."

Cynthia reported the manhandle to the police in December 2013, a year after she got away, and her case is as of now in its last stages. Yet, her help and seek after what's to come are mixed with a feeling of dissatisfaction and bitterness in realizing that that there are a large number of different casualties in the nation who are as yet enduring peacefully. "Many individuals in the UK don't recognize what kid trafficking is," she says.

"It disheartens me that despite the fact that I've come out of it there are still thousands of people out there in the position I was in. The victims are kept inside the house. They’re crying but people aren't listening out for their voice."

13 Proven ways to make a good relationship great

13 Proven ways to make a good relationship great
Do a Google look on the best way to get your best body and you'll be immersed with pages of preparing tips. For the individuals who need to take that same, proactive way to deal with making your best relationship, I have your "practice regimen" underneath.

1. Do the things you did the main year you were dating.

As the months and years move on, we have a tendency to sneak into our notorious warm up pants and get sluggish in our relationship. We lose our understanding, tenderness, insightfulness, understanding and the general exertion we once made toward our mate. Recollect the primary year of your relationship and record every one of the things you used to accomplish for your accomplice. Presently begin doing them once more.

2. Request what you need.

After some time, we accept that our accomplice knows us so well that we don't have to request what we need. What happens when we make this supposition? Desires are set and pretty much as fast, they get collapsed. Those neglected desires can abandon us doubting the suitability of our association and association. Remember that "requesting what you need" reaches out to everything from enthusiastic to sexual needs.

3. Turned into a specialist on your accomplice.

Consider who your mate truly is and what energizes him or her (both physically and inwardly). We can get to be devoured by what WE THINK he/she needs, instead of tuning into what really resounds with the other individual. Keep in mind that if it's imperative to your accomplice, it doesn't need to sound good to you. You simply need to do it.

4. Try not to ask "how was your day."

Toward the end of a taxing day, we tend to rationally look at of our lives and thusly, our relationship. We depend on the standard question, "How was your day?" Generally, that exhausting inquiry will yield an exhausting answer, for example, "Fine, how was yours?" This does nothing to enhance your association and rather, can really harm it since you're losing the chance to consistently interface smallly.

Rather, have a go at asking things like, "What made you grin today?" or "What was the most difficult piece of your day?" You'll be astonished at the answers you'll get, with the additional advantage of increasing more noteworthy understanding into your loved one.

5. Make a week by week custom to check in with each other.

It can be short or long yet it starts with asking each other what worked and didn't work about the earlier week and what should be possible to enhance things this coming week. Also, utilize this chance to get in agreement with your timetables, arrange a night out on the town and discuss what you might want to witness in the coming days, weeks, and months in your relationship. Without a deliberate arrangement to do a temperature check, neglected requirements and feelings of disdain can fabricate.

6. Keep it hot.

What may change in your relationship if both you and your accomplice focused on expanding the practices you every discover attractive and constraining those that aren't? Consider this in the broadest shape. "Provocative" can surely allude to room inclinations, however it additionally speaks to what energizes us about our mate in our everyday lives. Do you think that its hot on the off chance that he/she assists with the housework? Do you think that its "unsexy" when he/she utilizes the restroom with the entryway completely open? Discuss what it particularly intends to "keep it provocative" in your relationship. Be stunned, be humored, be propelled!
Relationship help
7. Get innovative about the time you spend together.

Break out of the "supper and a film" routine and watch how a little oddity can genuinely restore your relationship. On a financial plan and can't pull out all the stops? Bounce on the web to search for "shoddy date thoughts" and be overwhelmed at the plenty of choices. Can't manage the cost of a sitter? Take a stab at swapping keeping an eye on with companions that have children. It's free and they will probably be excited to take your children since they will get the opportunity to exploit when they drop their children at your place.

8. Get it on.

Unless you have focused on an abiogenetic organization, sex, sexual contact and touching (kissing, clasping hands, nestling and so on.) are fundamental parts of a sentimental relationship. The recurrence is obviously, up to you and it's basic that you examine your thoughts regarding it keeping in mind the end goal to avoid disdain. Uncommon are the minutes when both accomplices are "in the state of mind" at precisely the same, however that doesn't imply that you need to decay their advances. Advise yourself that you will quite often "arrive" after the initial couple of minutes and that a private communication of any sort assembles association and lifts your state of mind and wellbeing. Remember that you are never required to say "yes." If you really don't feel it, the best thing you can do is to defer. Simply ensure that you start or acknowledge inside a sensible measure of time from there on.

9. Take a (mental) excursion, regular.

Life and work diversions can get to be foremost in our brains and that leaves little time or vitality for our accomplice. Hone the craft of "Wearing the Relationship Hat." This implies (notwithstanding any crises or due dates), we are completely present when we're with our mate. We really hear what they are stating (rather than putting on a show to tune in), we abandon our diversions and we don't lift them up again until the sun comes up and we exit the entryway.

A few tips to enhance correspondence

Tragically, we aren't conceived with the intrinsic capacity to viably impart however it doesn't imply that we can't learn. Utilize the accompanying strategies to better explore and utmost the strain in your relationship:

10. Take "battle breaks" when you require them.

Before you've hit the final turning point and as you see the stretch starting to raise, either of you can call a break with the goal that cooler heads can win. The core of this instrument lies in the way that you should pick a particular time to return to the discussion (I.e. 10 minutes from now, 2:00pm on Tuesday and so forth.) so conclusion can be accomplished.

11. Burrow profound to uncover your actual emotions.

In many differences, we convey from the "Top Layer," which are the undeniable feelings, for example, outrage, irritation and so forth. Driving from this place can make perplexity, preventiveness and at last occupy from the main problem. Begin imparting from the "Base Layer" (i.e. What sentiments are truly driving your responses, for example, dissatisfaction, dismissal, depression, disregard and so forth.).

This kind of expression makes a moment feeling of sympathy since it requires genuineness and helplessness to share from this space. Pressure will scatter and from here, arrangements can spring. Simply make certain to utilize kind, non-receptive stating while communicating these base layer emotions, for example, "I felt hurt by… " as a substitution for "You're such a snap" and so on.

12. Look to comprehend ... not concur.

Simple in idea, troublesome in application. Discussions rapidly swing to contentions when we're put resources into listening to our accomplice concede that we were correct or when we are resolved to evolving his/her conclusion. Approach a discussion as a chance to comprehend your loved one's point of view instead of sitting tight for them to yield. From this viewpoint, we have an intriguing exchange and keep a victory or waiting dissatisfaction.

13. Make the most of your conciliatory sentiment.

It's surely knew that apologizing is something to be thankful for yet it just has a genuine effect when you would not joke about this. Saying things like "I'm sad you feel that way" or "I'm sad you see it that way" are an exercise in futility and breath. Regardless of the possibility that you don't concur that your activity wasn't right, you will never effectively contend an inclination.

Acknowledge that your mate feels hurt and from this place, a genuine statement of regret can have a huge effect. When you cherish your accomplice and hurt them (purposefully or not) you can simply honest to goodness apologize for the torment you brought about paying little heed to your point of view on what you did or didn't do.

You are currently, authoritatively outfitted with the extensive practice routine to completely reshape your relationship. Trim the fat and assemble your most blazing relationship forever!
